- PANEL DISCUSSION ON “WOMEN EMPOWERMENT: BELIEFS AND BALANCES”, 6TH MARCH 2017, CHAMBER PREMISES
The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry jointly with Presidency Alumni Association organized a Panel Discussion on “Women Empowerment: Beliefs and Balances” on 6th March 2017 from 5:30 p.m. at the Williamson Magor Hall of the Bengal Chamber premises on the occasion of the International Women’s Day.
Mr Sutanu Ghosh, President, The Bengal Chamber and Prof Prasanta Roy, Vice-President, Presidency Alumni Association welcomed everyone present. Mr Sutanu Ghosh led the discussions forward by delivering the theme address and highlighted the various facets of empowerment following which the panel discussion commenced. The eminent panelists included Smt Shamlu Dudeja, Founder of SHE Foundation; Smt Alokananda Roy, Eminent Danseuse; Mr Dibyaloke Rai Chaudhuri, Acid Survivors Foundation, India along with Survivor, Smt Moyna Pramanik; Smt Swati Bhattacharjee , General Secretary, South Asian Women in Media, India & Senior Assistant Editor, Anandabazar Patrika and Smt Monideepa Banerjee, Resident Editor, NDTV India, who was the Moderator.
The Chamber, for the very first time, at the same platform, joined hands with the Acid Survivors Foundation, India and took a pledge to work together.
