The Indirect Taxes Committee of The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized a Seminar on Goods and Services Tax on 16th June, 2017 in the Chamber premises. The inaugural session was graced by Shri Sunil Mitra, Former Revenue and Finance Secretary, Government of India & Chairperson – Economic Affairs Committee, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Shri S. K. Panda, IRS, Chief Commissioner of Service Tax, Kolkata Zone. The welcome address was delivered by Mr. Subhodip Ghosh, Director General, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Mr. T B Chatterjee Chairperson Indirect Taxes Committee, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry concluded the session.
The technical sessions of the Seminar covered preparations for Going Live on GST , Invoicing, Tax Invoice, Debit and Credit Notes & Other Documents, Impact of Information Technology in GST Implementation, Online Submission of Returns through GSTN, Transitional Provisions & Transitional Rules, Levy, Supply, Time of Supply, Place of Supply (Including a brief on Sc I, II & III under CGST Act), Valuation under GST (Including Valuation Rules), Job Work under GST, Input Tax Credit Under GST (Covering the relevant Sections of The Act & ITC Rules) and Payment of Tax.
