Mastering Leadership

Mastering Leadership: The First Big Leap in Leadership, held on 10th May 2025 at the BCC&I premises. This is the inaugural workshop of the BCC&I Leadership Institute (BLI). The workshop was designed for mid-level professionals aspiring to be LEADERS.

This specially curated workshop delved into the following key aspects of being a Leader:
■  The differences between performing well as an individual and performing well as a leader of a team.
■  How does one adapt to become a strong leader in today's ever-changing business environment?
■  How does one handle the diversity of individuals in a team?
■  Breaking Leadership Myths.
■  Strengthening Your Team and,
■  3E's of Leadership.

The session was conducted by Mr. Supriyo Sinha and Mr. Soumendra Mohan Basu.

Mr. Sinha is a Business and leadership transformation specialist with 20+ years of experience across national & MNC firms including McKinsey & Co. and Axis Bank. He was Awarded India's Man of Excellence in Business Transformation at the Asian Business Leadership Award, 2024 and Best Director in mid-sized corporate at the Bombay Stock Exchange 2025. An Alumni of Harvard Business School, INSEAD Business School and President's Gold Medalist from IIM Calcutta, Mr. Sinha is also the leader of McKinsey's leadership practice in Asia and leader of performance management system of topmost leadership group at Axis Bank.

Mr. Basu is the Chairman of Endurance Technologies, a global firm of turnover more than INR 10,000 cr, Former Chairman of Manpower India (a Fortune 500 group company); current Chairman of Peerless Hotels and members of Board of Peerless parent company and Peerless Hospital with over 33 years of experience across SBI and Standard Chartered Bank (including COO - India Region). He is also a Certified Leadership coach having groomed leaders across Bajaj Financial, EY, Jubilant Group, Shoppers Stop, Tata Group etc.

The workshop was also graced by Mr. Subir Chakraborty, Former President, BCC&I and Former MD & CEO, Exide Industries Limited, and Mr. Gautam Ray, Immediate Former President, BCC&I and President - Corporate, RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, who shared their Leadership perspectives.

55 participants joined the session from various organizations representing multiple sectors like Logistics, Engineering, Infrastructure and Construction, Energy and also services industry, including NBFCs, Insurance & BPO, Consultancy, Information Technology and others. Certificates were provided to the participants by The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
