Air Chief Marshal (Rtd.) Arup Raha

Air Chief Marshal (Rtd.) Arup Raha, President, CENERS K and Hon. Member and Ambassadeur Extraordinaire, The Bengal Chamber.

Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha was the 24th Chief of the Air Staff. He retired as the CAS & the Chairman Chiefs of Staff Committee in December 2016.

 ▪ He was commissioned into the fighter stream of the IAF in Dec 1974 after completion of training in National Defence Academy & Air Force Academy.

 ▪ He has to his credit 3400 hours of flying , mostly on fighter aircraft. He had commanded a MiG-29 Squadron & two front-line airbases. Having served in Western & South Western Commands of the Army as AOC Advance HQs, he had contributed in joint operations immensely.

 ▪ He commanded two Operational Air Commands & served as the VCAS before he was appointed as the CAS. He was awarded the PVSM, AVSM & Vayu Sena Medal by the President for distinguished service.

Mr. Abraham George Stephanos

Mr. Abraham George Stephanos, President, The Bengal Chamber and Managing Director, Tata Steel Downstream Products Limited.

Mr. Stephanos is the Managing Director of Tata Steel Downstream Products Limited. He started his career with Indian Aluminium Company (INDAL) in 1984, where he held various positions in the smelter, extrusions and the foil & packaging divisions. In 1997, he joined the Senior Leadership team of TSDPL (Then known as Tata Ryerson Limited), where he held the positions of Chief of Market Planning, Vice President (Marketing & Sales), Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director before being appointed as the Managing Director in 2014.

 ▪ He is the President of The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In addition, he is the Chairman of the CII GreenCo Forum, Kolkata Chapter. He is also the Chairman of IIM Calcutta Alumni Association.

 ▪ B. Sc. Degree in Mechanical Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Rourkela.
 ▪ Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.

Mr. A. Lahiri

Mr. A. Lahiri, Convenor, Economic Summit, CENERS-K and Former President, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry

Mr. Lahiri began his career in 1968 with the Matfatlal Group as a Project Engineer working out of Mumbai, Germany and Egypt. In 1976 he started his 3-decade long career with Hindustan Unilever Ltd, the Indian subsidiary of Unilever. Mr. Lahiri went on to serve the Hindustan Lever Board in various capacities as Director - Agri business, Technical Director and Director - Human Resources and Corporate Affairs between 1992 and 1997, with responsibilities that spanned the range from manufacturing, project management and technology to capital investments, engineering management and human resources.

 ▪ In 1998, he was seconded to Unilever at its corporate centre and shared time between the Netherlands and UK as Senior Vice President - Manufacturing and Supply Chain Technology with worldwide responsibilities. He simultaneously headed the Safety, Health and Environment Action Committee of Unilever as its Chairman.

 ▪ In 2001, he returned to India and was associated with ABP Pvt Ltd, a leading media publication company as its Managing Director till 2005. Under Mr. Lahiri's stewardship ABP saw unprecedented growth and expanded its footprint to the electronic media starting with the acquisition of Star News from Star TV portfolio owned by News Corp.

 ▪ Mr. Lahiri joined the diversified multinational New York based The Chatterjee Group (TCG) in 2006 as the President of the Group and also served as the CEO of the TCG Group's IT platform till 2014.

 ▪ Mr. Lahiri's entrepreneurial spirit has found a voice in the two companies that he has founded - Trishul Engineering Solutions Pvt. Ltd. an Engineering Design Services company, and Siegwald Leadership and Training Academy Pvt. Ltd., both headquartered in Kolkata. He is the Founder Chairman of both companies and is now dedicating all his time to build these businesses.

 ▪ He is the past President of The Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Calcutta Management Association. While with TCG he was the Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce, Kolkata Chapter and the Vice Chairman of the National Executive Board, AMCHAM India. He has also served as the Chairman of the Board of Practical Training as a nominee of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

 ▪ An alumnus of St. Xavier's College, Kolkata and IIT, Madras, Mr. Lahiri attended the Senior Leadership Programme at Wharton while with Unilever. He also holds a Diploma in Industrial Engineering from NITIE.

Dr. Alok Roy

Prof. K. Srinath Reddy

Ms. Suchita Gupta

Ms. Suchita Gupta joined the General Insurance Corporation of India, Mumbai as a direct recruit officer in 1987. She holds Master's degree in Commerce and a Bachelor's degree in Law from University of Mumbai. She is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India & the Insurance Institute of India.

He retired from Army service in 2004 as the Chief of Staff, Headquarters Eastern Command. He had participated in the 1971 Indo Pak War in the Eastern, commanded three battalions, the Indian Training Team at Botswana Africa, a mountain brigade, a mountain division, 15 Corps in J & K during the Kargil Conflict. He is known for his knowledge of J & K and India's North East and has written on the same, He is a Member Emeritus of CENERS-K.

Prof. Sandra Albert, Director, Indian Institute of Public Health Shillong, Center for the Study of Complex Malaria in India (CSCMI), Regional Resource Hub for Health Technologies Assessment in India (RRH-HTAIn) NER.

Prof. Sandra Albert is a dermatologist and a public health professional, and currently the Director of the Indian Institute of Public Health (IIPH) in Shillong, in northeast India. She has an MD in Skin & Sexually Transmitted Infections from the Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, India. From clinical medicine she broadened her field of interest to public health and received a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, UK in 2014. Her research interests include health systems, health policy, skin disorders, sexual and reproductive health, malaria epidemiology, health economics and indigenous knowledge. The IIPH Shillong, that Prof Albert directs, is established to redress the limited institutional and systems capacity in public health in the northeast region of India. As part of the research and capacity strengthening efforts, Prof Albert has established a Center for the Study of Complex Malaria in India (CSCMI) in Shillong; a collaborative initiative with New York University, USA, and other partners, funded by NIH USA. Prof Albert also leads the Regional Resource Hub for Health Technology Assessment in India (RRH-HTAIn) at the IIPH Shillong; an initiative of the Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. The RRH-HTAIn does cost effectiveness analysis of health technologies and or interventions relevant to the public sector.

Professor Dr. Swati M Patki

Professor Dr. Swati M Patki, HOD, Community Medicine Department, Zoram Medical College.

Medical Doctor with expertise in Public Health with an experience of around 20 years in teaching, training, and research.

 ▪ Conducted literature reviews, reviewed and summarized technical publications, and published several articles in National and International journals.

Dr. Jane R. Ralte

Dr. Ralte is a medical doctor and health administrator, currently working as the Registrar for Zoram Medical College, Falkawm, Mizoram. She has over 30 years of experience working with the public health system in Mizoram in various capacities. She obtained her MBBS degree from Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi and her Post graduate degree in Hospital Administration from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.

 ▪ She has held various administrative positions within the health and medical departments in Mizoram, including the Programme officer for the Directorate of Health Services, Officer-on-Special Duty with Under-Secretary for the Health and Family Welfare Department, and State Nodal Officer for Tobacco control programme.

 ▪ She has also been the Principal Investigator on various research projects conducted in Mizoram such as Tobacco Cessation Clinic later called Resource Centre for Tobacco Control, WHO project on Community based health care for the Elderly and WHO project on Cancer Control Programme in Mizoram.

Mr. Jayanto Narayan Choudhury

Mr. Jayanto Narayan Choudhury retired as DG National Security Guard in 2015 after 37 years' in the Indian Police Service. Earlier he was DGP Assam. He has served for over 25 years in the Intelligence Bureau, mainly in North-East India and Bengal. On deputation to MEA, he has served at the Embassy of India, Washington DC. He has trained with the British Security Service and the FBI. His articles have on policing have been published in international and national journals and he has spoken on different forums on police reform. Post retirement he was an Independent Director with GAIL and Vice-President Public Health Foundation of India.

Dr. Dileep Mavalankar, MPH, MD, Dr. PH - Director of IIPHG & Vice President western region, PHFI. He has worked as a post-doctoral fellow at the National Institute of Health (NIH) in USA. He was Faculty at Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, Public Systems Group from 1991-2010. He has published many articles in professional journals and written book chapters. He has been consultant to several national and international organizations.

 ▪ Currently member secretary of the Covid Task Force for Gujarat state appointed by CM of Gujarat.

Dr. Subhash R Salunke

Dr. Subhash R Salunke, MD, DPH, DIH, Senior Advisor, PHFI and Officiating Director, IIPH-Bhubaneswar

Functioning as SENIOR ADVISOR to President, Public Health Foundation of India on various issues of Public Health mainly focusing on Health Systems.

 ▪ In addition, he has been entrusted with responsibility of DIRECTOR OF INDIAN INSTITUTE OF PUBLIC HEALTH - BHUBANESWAR which is involved in Imparting, Training, Teaching and conducting Researches in Public Health in Eastern India in coordination & in consultation of Government of India as well as Govt. of Odisha.

 ▪ Advisory role on all the projects under the ambit of Health System Support Unit at the head quarter of PHFI. Contributed towards the development of National Initiatives for Allied Health Sciences, a project of MOHFW and PHFI. Contributed to the development of capacity building of health system of different states of India as per the guidelines and instruction of Govt. of India, particularly for the development of public health cadre.

 ▪ Having 30 years' experience in the Public Health Department spans from Deputy Director to Director General in the Health Services of Maharashtra State. Regularly contributing to the development of Public Health in the country as part of various committees of the states and Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.

 ▪ Navigated various portfolios in Public Health not only by fulfilling goals and targets but also by demonstrating innovative and rational ways. He has assisted State Governments to initiate a number of schemes, mainly focusing on health services to the poorer section of society. Was actively involved in formulating projects like "Health System Development" for Maharashtra that was supported by the World Bank. He has shown leadership in designing the HIV/AIDS Control special programme (AVERT) with the assistance of USAID for Maharashtra State. Was one of the members of designing National AIDS Control Programme Phase II during 1999-2000 that was a major step in control of HIV/AIDS through the National Programme for Control of HIV/AIDS. Dr. Srinivas Chilukuri

Dr. Srinivas Chilukuri, Expert in Proton Therapy in Radiation Oncology, Apollo Hospitals, Chennai.

Dr. Srinivas Chilukuri is an accomplished Radiation Oncologist who is also a key opinion leader in radiation oncology especially high precision radiation therapy including Particle beam therapy. He is credited with initiating South Asia and India's first clinical programme for particle beam therapy for pediatric cancers, prostate cancers and Sarcomas. He pioneered Volumetric Modulated Arc therapy which is also another high precision radiation therapy technique.

 ▪ Dr. Chilukuri was trained from some of the finest institutions such as Armed Forces Medical College, Tata Memorial Hospital, Miami Cancer Institute and Mayo Clinic. He has been awarded fellowships by American Society of Oncology and European society of medical oncology for being one of the most promising oncologists. He has been the clinical director for Advanced radiotherapy school which has trained numerous oncologists and medical physicists. He has won several national and international awards and has several international scientific publications to his credit including in high impact journals such as Lancet.

 ▪ He has special interest in, prostate cancers, bone and soft tissue tumors, pediatric and thoracic cancers. He has also co-founded and is currently the chairman of Optimus Oncology which has been working towards modern cancer care to the rural pockets of India. He believes in leveraging technology towards equitable cancer care and building sustainable healthcare models across geographies.

Dr. Amit K. Dinda is the Chief Coordinating Officer of Center for Medical Innovation & Entrepreneurship (CMIE) and ICMR Emeritus Scientist/Professor in Department of Pathology at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. He graduated (MBBS) from Calcutta Medical College. He completed his post-graduation (MD) in Pathology at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi followed by PhD in the same institute. He was head of Division of Renal & Transplant pathology. He has outstanding experience in experimental pathology with interdisciplinary research in immunopathology, tissue engineering, Nanomedicine, Regulatory Science and Bio-incubation.

 ▪ He has published more than 400 articles in indexed journal, edited 4 books, written 14 chapters in books and filed 14 patents. He is President of Indian Society of Renal & Transplant Pathology, Founder Secretary of Indian Society of Nanomedicine, Ex-Vice President of Electron Microscopy Society of India and Ex-Vice President of Society of Tissue Engineering & Regenerative Medicine (India). He is an assessor for NABL (Laboratory Accreditation), GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) & GCP (Good Clinical Practice) systems. He is Co-chairman of Medical Biotechnology Product division of Bureau of Indian Standard (BIS) and active member of several scientific, advisory and policy making committees of Government of India. He worked as a Visiting Professor in Molecular Nephrology at Long Island Jews Medical Center & Albert Einstein Medical College, New York, USA and Dept. of Biomedical Engineering at University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia.  ▪ Our research work on NGF/NGF-R has provided new insights and novel therapies for psoriatic arthritis (PsA), rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and osteoarthritis and pain control.
 ▪ Over years we have provided significant insight in understandings of the T cell cytokine network and our group has been the pioneer to identify the regulatory role of T cells in many autoimmune diseases.
 ▪ We are developing new drugs for autoimmune diseases with the Dept of Pharmacology, UC Davis.
