Air Chief Marshal (Rtd.) Arup Raha

Bengal Chamber Health Tech Air Chief Marshal (Rtd.) Arup Raha, President, CENERS K and Hon. Member and Ambassadeur Extraordinaire, The Bengal Chamber.

Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha was the 24th Chief of the Air Staff. He retired as the CAS & the Chairman Chiefs of Staff Committee in December 2016.

 ▪ He was commissioned into the fighter stream of the IAF in Dec 1974 after completion of training in National Defence Academy & Air Force Academy.

 ▪ He has to his credit 3400 hours of flying , mostly on fighter aircraft. He had commanded a MiG-29 Squadron & two front-line airbases. Having served in Western & South Western Commands of the Army as AOC Advance HQs, he had contributed in joint operations immensely.

 ▪ He commanded two Operational Air Commands & served as the VCAS before he was appointed as the CAS. He was awarded the PVSM, AVSM & Vayu Sena Medal by the President for distinguished service.




Mr. Abraham George Stephanos

Mr. Stephanos is the Managing Director of Tata Steel Downstream Products Limited. He started his career with Indian Aluminium Company (INDAL) in 1984, where he held various positions in the smelter, extrusions and the foil & packaging divisions. In 1997, he joined the Senior Leadership team of TSDPL (Then known as Tata Ryerson Limited), where he held the positions of Chief of Market Planning, Vice President (Marketing & Sales), Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director before being appointed as the Managing Director in 2014.

 ▪ He is the President of The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In addition, he is the Chairman of the CII GreenCo Forum, Kolkata Chapter. He is also the Chairman of IIM Calcutta Alumni Association.

Qualification:
 ▪ B. Sc. Degree in Mechanical Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Rourkela.
 ▪ Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.


Mr. A. Lahiri

Mr. Lahiri began his career in 1968 with the Matfatlal Group as a Project Engineer working out of Mumbai, Germany and Egypt. In 1976 he started his 3-decade long career with Hindustan Unilever Ltd, the Indian subsidiary of Unilever. Mr. Lahiri went on to serve the Hindustan Lever Board in various capacities as Director - Agri business, Technical Director and Director - Human Resources and Corporate Affairs between 1992 and 1997, with responsibilities that spanned the range from manufacturing, project management and technology to capital investments, engineering management and human resources.

 ▪ In 1998, he was seconded to Unilever at its corporate centre and shared time between the Netherlands and UK as Senior Vice President - Manufacturing and Supply Chain Technology with worldwide responsibilities. He simultaneously headed the Safety, Health and Environment Action Committee of Unilever as its Chairman.

 ▪ In 2001, he returned to India and was associated with ABP Pvt Ltd, a leading media publication company as its Managing Director till 2005. Under Mr. Lahiri's stewardship ABP saw unprecedented growth and expanded its footprint to the electronic media starting with the acquisition of Star News from Star TV portfolio owned by News Corp.

 ▪ Mr. Lahiri joined the diversified multinational New York based The Chatterjee Group (TCG) in 2006 as the President of the Group and also served as the CEO of the TCG Group's IT platform till 2014.

 ▪ Mr. Lahiri's entrepreneurial spirit has found a voice in the two companies that he has founded - Trishul Engineering Solutions Pvt. Ltd. an Engineering Design Services company, and Siegwald Leadership and Training Academy Pvt. Ltd., both headquartered in Kolkata. He is the Founder Chairman of both companies and is now dedicating all his time to build these businesses.

 ▪ He is the past President of The Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Calcutta Management Association. While with TCG he was the Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce, Kolkata Chapter and the Vice Chairman of the National Executive Board, AMCHAM India. He has also served as the Chairman of the Board of Practical Training as a nominee of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

 ▪ An alumnus of St. Xavier's College, Kolkata and IIT, Madras, Mr. Lahiri attended the Senior Leadership Programme at Wharton while with Unilever. He also holds a Diploma in Industrial Engineering from NITIE.




Dr. Alok Roy

This is an unique service rendered, which is akin to 911 emergency services of USA, and was done first time in India for above three cities and running successfully for last five years. Thousands of road victims have been benefitted.

 ▪ He is Past President of The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Chairman, Health Services Committee for Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industries (FICCI).

Mr. Arnab Basu is the Advisory Leader and Partner for PwC in India and Vice President, The Bengal Chamber.

 ▪ He has two decades of consulting experience in diverse fields like Digital Strategy & Business Transformation, Operating Model Design, Financial Performance Management, Removing Complexity, and defining the Digital Journey leveraging Enterprise Applications. He has worked for a range of top tier clients across multiple geographies and industries including Industrial Products, Discrete Manufacturing, Metals & Mining, Oil & Gas.

 ▪ In his previous role, he was the Technology Consulting leader for PwC India for five years and focused on leading large scale business transformations. As the Regional Managing Partner of East region, Arnab expanded PwC's footprints across the region including Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan.

Prof. K. Srinath Reddy

 ▪ Prof. K. Srinath Reddy formerly headed the Department of Cardiology at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.
 ▪ Under his leadership, PHFI has established five Indian Institutes of Public Health (IIPHs) in different regions of India, to advance multi-disciplinary public health education, research, health technologies and implementation support for strengthening health systems.
 ▪ Appointed as the First Bernard Lown Visiting Professor of Cardiovascular Health at the Harvard School of Public Health in (2009-13) and presently serves as an Adjunct Professor of Epidemiology at Harvard (2014-2023)
 ▪ He is a Padma Bhushan awardee (2005).
 ▪ Holds advisory positions in several national and international bodies and recently published a book "Make Health in India: Reaching A Billion Plus".
 ▪ He is also an Adjunct Professor of the Rollins School of Public Health, Emory University and Honorary Professor of Medicine at the University of Sydney.
 ▪ First Indian to be elected to the National Academy of Medicine (USA) and was awarded several prestigious international and national doctorates and fellowships.
 ▪ Professor Reddy is a member of the Government of India Technical Taskforce for COVID-19.

Dr. Rupali Basu

Dr. Rupali Basu, an expert in healthcare sector in India is currently the Managing Director & CEO, Woodlands Multispeciality Hospital Ltd, Kolkata.

Dr. Basu is a medical graduate from R G Kar Medical College, Kolkata and has post graduate training in Health and Hospital Management from Harvard and Delhi Universities.

Dr. Basu is known for her pioneering work in bringing Quality Systems and Accreditation in Healthcare in India. Her contribution in developing Superspeciality Tertiary Care hospital services in Eastern India, specifically Cancer, Cardiac and Emergency care, is instrumental in bringing back the confidence of people in healthcare in the Region. She is considered as a Turn-around Specialist in hospitals.

Dr. Basu sits on the Boards of Directors of Tata Metaliks Ltd, Tata Tinplate, Goodricke Group Ltd etc and is a Management Committee member of BCC&I. She leads several committees in CII, BCC&I and ICC for facilitating business and economy. This includes the Lifestyle Committee of BCC&I of which she is the chairperson.

Dr. Basu works for blind people through the NGO, Welfare Society for the Blind. She is the Founder Director of The Bengal Fashion Heritage and a Trustee of Calcutta Heritage Collective.



Ms. Suchita Gupta

Ms. Suchita Gupta joined the General Insurance Corporation of India, Mumbai as a direct recruit officer in 1987. She holds Master's degree in Commerce and a Bachelor's degree in Law from University of Mumbai. She is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India & the Insurance Institute of India.

 ▪ Prior to taking charge as CMD of National Insurance Company Limited on 2nd August 2021, she has been the General Manager & Company Secretary and Chief Financial Officer of the GIC Re where she was heading the Finance, Life Re & Health, CMD & Board Secretariat, Coordination, Compliance, Investment (Mid & Back Office) of the Corporation and has served as Director of GIC Housing Finance Limited for a period from 12th February 2020 to 2nd August 2021.

Lt. Gen. John Ranjan Mukherjee, PVSM, AVSM, VSM (Retd), is an alumnus of La Martiniere College, Calcutta, National Defence Academy, Khadakvasla, Staff College at Camberly, UK, National Defence College, New Delhi. He retired from Army service in 2004 as the Chief of Staff, Headquarters Eastern Command. He had participated in the 1971 Indo Pak War in the Eastern, commanded three battalions, the Indian Training Team at Botswana Africa, a mountain brigade, a mountain division, 15 Corps in J & K during the Kargil Conflict. He is known for his knowledge of J & K and India's North East and has written on the same, He is a Member Emeritus of CENERS-K.



Bengal Chamber Health Tech Prof. Sandra Albert, Director, Indian Institute of Public Health Shillong, Center for the Study of Complex Malaria in India (CSCMI), Regional Resource Hub for Health Technologies Assessment in India (RRH-HTAIn) NER.

Prof. Sandra Albert is a dermatologist and a public health professional, and currently the Director of the Indian Institute of Public Health (IIPH) in Shillong, in northeast India. She has an MD in Skin & Sexually Transmitted Infections from the Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, India. From clinical medicine she broadened her field of interest to public health and received a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, UK in 2014. Her research interests include health systems, health policy, skin disorders, sexual and reproductive health, malaria epidemiology, health economics and indigenous knowledge. The IIPH Shillong, that Prof Albert directs, is established to redress the limited institutional and systems capacity in public health in the northeast region of India. As part of the research and capacity strengthening efforts, Prof Albert has established a Center for the Study of Complex Malaria in India (CSCMI) in Shillong; a collaborative initiative with New York University, USA, and other partners, funded by NIH USA. Prof Albert also leads the Regional Resource Hub for Health Technology Assessment in India (RRH-HTAIn) at the IIPH Shillong; an initiative of the Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. The RRH-HTAIn does cost effectiveness analysis of health technologies and or interventions relevant to the public sector.

 ▪ As a Medical College faculty, was involved in curriculum revision for MBBS undergraduate program for State Health Science University and guided several doctoral students for their research dissertations and publications.

Dr. Ralte is a medical doctor and health administrator, currently working as the Registrar for Zoram Medical College, Falkawm, Mizoram.  ▪ ICATT was the first and only organization to have proven the concept of HEMS - Helicopter Emergency Medical Service - in India. This was done in 2018 during the floods in Kerala.
